The Aloha Community Library is a dynamic nonprofit public library that provides a wide range of services. We are seeking a team-oriented library enthusiast to serve as a part-time Circulation Assistant.

The ideal candidate is positive, practices proactive customer service, is passionate about library services, and is eager to learn and innovate. Library experience is a plus, but not required. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, flexibility, the ability to work independently, the enjoyment of working with a diverse group of people, and the ability to work evening and Saturday shifts.

As you may have already heard, the Aloha Community Library received a $56,000 grant to update our children’s library, and we want you to tell us some of the things you might like to see in the newly envisioned space.

Help us reimagine the children’s library by sharing your ideas about what we can do to make this a more inviting, vibrant, and engaging space for this community. Add your suggestions, inspirations, or images virtually to our Jamboard, or visit the library from Monday, February 28th through Saturday, April 2nd to add your thoughts to our dream wall in the children’s library.

What would you like to see in your library?

Last spring, Representative WInsvey Campos (Oregon House District 28) included our library’s project proposal in a request for American Rescue Plan Act funds to help revitalize our community. After moving through the process at the state and federal levels,  we are proud to announce that our proposal was recently approved! 

We have received $56,000 to establish our children’s library as a welcoming and vibrant destination for children and families! First on our list is to purchase new shelving that is purpose-built for use in libraries, along with some new furnishings. Additional spending on new technology, books and movies, and STEAM programming is also a part of the plan. As with everything right now, progress might take a bit longer than hoped. We will keep you updated as we move forward!
