Last spring, Representative WInsvey Campos (Oregon House District 28) included our library’s project proposal in a request for American Rescue Plan Act funds to help revitalize our community. After moving through the process at the state and federal levels, we are proud to announce that our proposal was recently approved!
We have received $56,000 to establish our children’s library as a welcoming and vibrant destination for children and families! First on our list is to purchase new shelving that is purpose-built for use in libraries, along with some new furnishings. Additional spending on new technology, books and movies, and STEAM programming is also a part of the plan. As with everything right now, progress might take a bit longer than hoped. We will keep you updated as we move forward!
Many thanks to Representative Campos for selecting our project out of so many worthy options, and to our board of directors for supporting this next phase of our growth! And, as always, thank you to our community for your generosity and positivity. We could not do this without you!
