Come learn about overlooked parts of Oregon’s past from Dr. Tracy Prince and Zadie Schaffer, authors of Notable Women of Portland!
In spite of the way that Oregon’s history has often been told with a focus on male leaders, many women from all walks of life – including women from 10,000 years of Native American history, from the pioneer period, from the Progressive Era, from both World Wars and the post-war period, and women who have worked in arts and in politics – have made their mark and radically influenced how Portland and Oregon became the way they are today.
Historian Dr. Tracy Prince is a Research Professor at Portland State University. Her daughter and coauthor Zadie Schaffer is a student at Stanford University.
