Summer Reading sign-up ends July 31st!

There’s still time to sign-up for Summer Reading at the Aloha Community Library! Visit the library before Wednesday, July 31st to register. Don’t miss your chance!

For participants up to age 18 if you meet your summer reading goal, you’ll get…

A FREE prize book!

A FREE Portland Trail Blazers ticket for a 2019-20 eligible October or November game:

  • One adult ticket (300 level Tan) must be purchased at time of redemption, with options to upgrade tickets available.
  • Limit of two FREE ticket redemptions per paid adult, not valid with any other offers.
  • Redeem tickets online via www.trailblazers.com/readtoredeem. 
  • Game options and tickets will be available for purchase by September 16th.

A FREE Hamburger Happy Meal from McDonald’s:

  • Present coupon at your local McDonald’s to receive one free Hamburger Happy Meal.
  • Expires October 31, 2019.
  • Valid at these participating McDonald’s locations: Aloha, Beaverton, Capitol Hwy., Cedar Mill, Hillsboro, Lake Grove, Scholls Ferry, Tigard (72nd Ave. & Main St.), Tualatin.

Oregon State Fair FREE Kids Admission coupon and 2-for-1 Adult & Teen Admission coupon:

  • Kids under 5 years old are always admitted FREE to the Oregon State Fair.
  • Kids ages 5 – 12 may use a FREE child’s admission ticket to the 2019 Oregon State Fair.
  • Teens ages 13 to 18 may use a 2-for-1 adult admission ticket to the 2018 Oregon State Fair (this requires an $8 adult admission ticket co-purchase at time of redemption).

Summer Fun Raffle

Our 2nd annual Summer Fun Raffle is back July 1 – July 20! Take your chance at winning a fantastic gift basket, all while supporting YOUR Aloha Community Library! Visit the library or alohalibrary.org/support-us/donate to purchase tickets.

Tickets:

$2 = 1 ticket

$5 = 3 tickets

$10 = 7 tickets

$20 = 15 tickets

Enter all of your tickets for the basket you really, really want, or divide your tickets between baskets – then cross your fingers!

When ordering online, please indicate the number of tickets you would like included for each basket in the PayPal notes field.

Winners will be notified on Monday, July 22.

Book Donations Wanted!

Looking to tackle some spring cleaning? We can help! The Aloha Community Library is seeking donations of new and used books, DVDs, and CDs. Please note that we do not accept encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest, cassette tapes, or VHS. Donations should not be missing pages, soiled, musty, moldy, with smoke or water damage, or with excessive writing in the text.

Please contact the library in advance for larger donations of 10 or more boxes that require assistance from library staff. All donations must be received during regularly open hours.

Donations are reviewed for use in the library collection or sold via our online store and in-library book sales. All donations are tax deductible and benefit the Aloha Community Library Association. Thank you for your support!

Summer Reading 2019: A Universe of Stories

Summer Reading is just around the corner at the Aloha Community Library! Sign up for all ages begins Saturday, June 1st at the library for kids and teens, and online for adults. Participants between the ages of 0 and 18 can register for either the children (infancy through 5th grade) or teen (6th through 12th grade) programs between June 1st and July 31st. Please register at only one library.

Adult  readers (age 18 and up) can sign up online starting June 1st through
WCCLS Reads: Summer Reading for Adults and receive weekly book recommendations in your inbox and be eligible for prize drawings. Prizes include tickets to Literary Arts events, Powell’s gift cards, and more!
