Adult readers and would-be readers! If you find that one of the most difficult aspects of maintaining a regular reading habit or expanding your reading horizons is deciding what to read, why not let the experts do the heavy lifting?
This year, we’re challenging you to level up your summer reading by delving into the expansive wealth of local, national, and international literary prizes. Explore the following links and discover for yourself why these works and authors are considered the best of the best:
- Page Turners & Shameless Romance Book Club selections
- Oregon Book Award nominees
- National Book Award nominees
- Booker Prize nominees
- Stonewall Book Award winners
- Agatha Award winners
- Bram Stoker Award nominees
- Hugo or Nebula Award nominees
- International Booker nominees
- FIL Literary Prize winners
- Atukagawa Prize winners
- Nobel laureates
No registration is required to take part. Just collect your challenge sheet from the library or download a copy and start reading, then return your completed sheet to the front desk of the library by August 30th to be entered into our end of summer prize drawing for one of three $50 Powell’s Books gift cards! Receive one entry for every four completed challenges, or five total entries for completing all the challenges on the sheet.
