This Summer, the Aloha Community Library invites all adult patrons, to participate in three short form writing competitions.
- Six-word Stories
Before the library closes on June 30th, submit to the library one titled or untitled six-word story (titles don’t count against your six words) for a chance to win a $20 Powell’s Books gift card. - Found Poem
Before the library closes on July 31st, submit one found poem in blackout, erasure, or cut-up format for a chance to win a $30 Powell’s Books gift card. - Flash Fiction
Finally, before the library closes on August 31st, submit one piece of flash fiction (1,000 words or less) for a chance to win a $50 Powell’s Books gift card.
Only one submission allowed per patron, per contest; however, winning one contest will not preclude you from winning another. Submit your entries in the drop box located in the Adult Nonfiction section (near the water fountains) or by email to jareds@alohalibrary.org. All entries will be displayed inside the library and our selected winners will be shared via social media after winners are contacted.
