December Closures

The library will be closed all day Tuesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday. We will also close early on Tuesday, December 31 at 5:00 pm to ensure patrons and staff can get home safely New Year’s Eve.

Happy holidays from the Aloha Community Library!

Giving Tuesday

YOU can help ACLA raise $10,000 on Giving Tuesday, December 3rd! A generous donor will MATCH EVERY DONATION made on Giving Tuesday, up to $5,000!

How would we use $10,000? In so many cool ways!

  • $25 = craft supplies for toddlers’ Messy Arts & Crafts program
  • $60 = supplies for one teen/adult Crafternoon program
  • $150 = a year’s worth of writing supplies and snacks for Writers Group
  • $300 = Nintendo Switch for teen gaming programs
  • $450 = music or dance performance for the community
  • $1,000 = two year movie showing license for program use
  • $2,625 = monthly budget to purchase new books and movies

Donate online at https://alohalibrary.org/support-us/donate/ or in the library by check or credit/debit card.

We need your help! Please share our goal with your family and friends. Let them know of the amazing programs, books, movies, and staff at YOUR local nonprofit community library. Encourage them to donate, too!

Special prize drawing!

All donors (21 years and older) who make donations of $100 or more on Tuesday, December 3, are eligible to win a Reserve Tour and Tasting for up to eight Wine Enthusiasts at Willamette Valley Vineyards! Many thanks to Willamette Valley Vineyards for supporting the Aloha Community Library Association.

Thank you for your support!

Read for a Cause Winter Reading Challenge

Join our Read for a Cause Winter Reading Challenge between  December 16 and January 31 to earn books for local children and families in need. For every 50 hours read, we’ll give away 50 books to our community partners at the Oregon Department of Human Services. Our goal is to read 500 hours to earn 500 books for DHS!

Reading trackers will be available starting Monday, December 16 at the library (or by printable PDF here). Kids of all ages are welcome to participate — any time spent reading, being read to, or listening to a book counts! Turn in as many trackers as you want, but make sure your trackers are returned by no later than Friday, January 31 to be counted toward the total. Let’s beat the challenge and help support our community!

All books earned as a result of the challenge will be donated to the Oregon Department of Human Services foster care program to benefit local children this holiday season. Thank you for supporting our community!
