Don’t forget to turn in your Reading Logs!

Summer is almost over! Can you believe it? Fall is just around the corner, but there’s still time to turn in your Reading Logs! Come to the library between now and the end of August to claim your prize packet and free book. Thursday, August 31st will be the last day to claim prizes.

Summer Performer: Rick Huddle


Rick Huddle combines physical humor, theatrical storytelling, and music to put on variety shows that go beyond mere entertainment. Parents and children will laugh, sing, and play their way to a deeper understanding of each other.

Storytime with Princess Belle


Calling all princes, princesses, and royal friends! Join everyone’s favorite bookish princess Belle for a special Princess Storytime followed by crafts and activities.

Royal attire encouraged!

Summer Reading Starts June 1!

Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s almost time for our 2017 Summer Reading Program at the Aloha Community Library! Sign-up for all ages begins Thursday, June 1 at the library. CPrinthildren and teens from ages 0 to 18 can visit the library between June 1st and July 31st to sign-up and retrieve their reading logs. Adult readers (ages 18 and up) can register online or in the library through WCCLS Reads after June 1st. Please register at only one WCCLS library!

Visit our Summer Reading page to learn more about the exciting programs and events offered by the library throughout the summer. Programs will take place every week at the library from the end of June — starting the 27th — through August, so stop by and see what’s happening at your local library!

2017 Teen Summer Reading Artwork Contest

For the first time at the new Aloha Community Library, WCCLS card holders between the ages of 12 and 18 are invited to participate in this year’s county-wide Teen Summer Reading Artwork Contest!

Teen artists can submit up to two original works to the Aloha Community Library for consideration between now and February 13, 2017. The winning design will be used on promotional material for this year’s summer reading program, “Build a Better World” throughout Washington County.

The winner also receives a $150 gift certificate for Powell’s Books. The second place winner receives a $50 gift certificate for Blick Art Materials, and the winner of honorable mention will get a $25 Blick gift certificate.

Family Board Game Day


Drop in any time between 1:00 and 4:00pm at the library to enjoy a day of board game fun with your friends and family! Use the library’s selection of games (including Fluxx, Rummikub, Ticket to Ride, and more), or bring your own to share. All ages welcome!

Summer is passing quickly, but there’s still time to sign up for Summer Reading at the Aloha Community Library! Registration closes by Saturday, July 30th for our children’s and teen programs, and by the 31st for the WCCLS Reads adult program. Don’t miss out! Read more →

THPRD: Wetland Wonderland


Drop in to explore plants and animals from the wetland with THPRD! Visitors will be able to discover aquatic macro-invertebrates through hands-on activities, learn about life-cycles, and understand some of the adaptations plants and animals have to survive in a wetland ecosystem.

This program is free and open to the public. All ages welcome!
