Happy Birthday, Aloha Library!

Have you heard? The Aloha Community Library is turning five! A group of generous library supporters is giving us a huge birthday present – a dollar for dollar match if we raise $15,000 by September 30! Just think. We could raise $30,000 (or more) by the end of this month! But we can only do it with your help.

Help Open the Doors to Our Future

Libraries open many doors –

  • Doors to imagination
  • Doors to opportunities
  • Doors to knowledge
  • Doors to inspiration

The Aloha Community Library opened our doors in September 2012 as a volunteer-run, donation-funded community library serving the Aloha-Reedville community.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors, and the hard work of our dedicated volunteers and staff, the Aloha Community Library has been opening doors in our community.

Children are developing a love of reading in our storytime, summer reading and Read to the Dogs programs. Families are enjoying family movie nights. Teens and adults are enjoying author events, our book club, and other special interest events. Job seekers are finding jobs using our internet access. And our patrons are finding inspiration, entertainment and knowledge with our collection of over 12,000 books and movies.

We need your help to open doors to the future.

If the November 2015 library levy passes, we will become part of Washington County Cooperative Library Services as of July 1, 2016. Between now and then, we need to keep our doors open, and we need to build for the future.

It takes $10,000 per month to keep the library open. We rely on community support from donors like you, as well as book sales and grants to keep us going. Your gift will help us fund library operations and programs, and help us continue to grow as we prepare for WCCLS membership on July 1, 2016.

We’re excited to announce a new challenge grant! A group of library supporters has pledged to donate $20,000 if we raise $20,000 to match their pledge by Nov. 3, 2015. You can watch our progress as we build our doorway in the library.

Can you help us reach our target this year? You can donate by dropping off or mailing a check to the library, or donating online on our website through PayPal ( Many local employers also match charitable gifts; contact your HR department for more information.

Thank you,

The Aloha Community Library
