Catalog and account software will be down starting Sunday night until Tuesday
Starting at 6:00 pm on Sunday, January 29th, the WCCLS catalog and accounts will be unavailable. This is because WCCLS will be performing software updates during this time. We anticipate that the catalog and accounts will become available sometime on Tuesday, January 31st.
Here’s what you need to know:
- No library materials will be due on Sunday, January 29th, Monday, January 30th, or Tuesday, January 31st
- Cloud Library e-books and audiobooks will not be available during this time
- Follow WCCLS on Facebook and Twitter to get the most frequent updates about the downtime
- When the catalog and accounts are available again, we will also announce it on our News & Events blog
What will be available during the software updates?
- You will be able to access downloadable e-books and audiobooks via Library2Go as usual while the WCCLS catalog and accounts are down
- The wccls.org website will also be available, including WCCLS online resources and the events calendar
What will be different when the WCCLS catalog and accounts are updated?
You may notice some improvements to the appearance of the public catalog and your library account. In addition, the staff version of the library catalog will have added functionality.
Thanks in advance for your patience while we work to upgrade our catalog and account software! We apologize for the inconvenience.
Repost from wccls.org.
For the first time at the new Aloha Community Library, WCCLS card holders between the ages of 12 and 18 are invited to participate in this year’s county-wide Teen Summer Reading Artwork Contest!
Teen artists can submit up to two original works to the Aloha Community Library for consideration between now and February 13, 2017. The winning design will be used on promotional material for this year’s summer reading program, “Build a Better World” throughout Washington County.
The winner also receives a $150 gift certificate for Powell’s Books. The second place winner receives a $50 gift certificate for Blick Art Materials, and the winner of honorable mention will get a $25 Blick gift certificate.
For additional information, please visit wccls.org or download the contest entry form and details here. Winners will be announced in March. Good luck!
The library will be closing early this afternoon due to inclement weather. We apologize for the unexpected closures and any inconvenience to patrons. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the uncooperative weather!
The Aloha Community Library will be closing early today, Monday, January 16 at 2:00pm. Our heater is not currently working, and until it is fixed or the weather warms up, the library may be subject to early closure for the safety of our patrons and staff. We apologize for the inconvenience!

Due to inclement weather and warnings from ODOT for travelers to stay home during the impending storm, the Aloha Community Library has decided to postpone the Grand Opening Celebration scheduled for today to Saturday, January 14 from 11:00am to 2:00pm. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope to see everyone next weekend.
Thank you for your support of the Aloha Community Library! We will open for our new, extended hours beginning on Monday (weather permitting, of course). Stay safe and warm this weekend!

This is a soft opening, so we are purposely not spreading the word far and wide – for now. We would benefit from a slow, steady chance to practice on real people. We thank you for your patience in advance!
