Engineer It! Exploring Ancient Technologies

Build a shelter, design a boat, weave a shoe, or invent a fishing tool! Try out your own engineering skills whMNCHile discovering technologies designed by Oregon’s first engineers. Native American people have long used science and engineering to create effective tools, homes, clothing, cooking methods and more – passing this knowledge down through generations. Many of these innovations are still being used today! Join us to explore a collection of Oregon artifacts from the museum and engage in fun, hands-on engineering challenges.

Using Water Wisely

Part-Time Full Charge Bookkeeper

12 hours per week, hourly rate $17.00-19.00

 

The Aloha Community Library Association is seeking an experienced, flexible part-time Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our growing organization.

The Full Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for recording and reporting all financial transactions, including bank reconciliations, budget preparation and cash flow projections, and IRS forms (Form 990, 1099). The position will work closely with the Office Manager, Library Director, and Board Treasurer in monitoring the budget and analyzing financial reports.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and accounting related tasks, including bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts payable. A thorough understanding of QuickBooks and being willing to update financial operations within the library is a must. This position requires excellent organizational skills, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and the enjoyment of working with a diverse group of people. Read more →

DIY Bug Catchers

Using recycled material and objects from nature, create a temporary home to catch and observe bugs. Then try out your new catcher with a bug hunt in the library! How many bugs can you find?
