June Book Club

Join us at the library for our monthly book club meeting to discuss How It All Began by Penelope Lively. No registration required.

Book Club usually takes place every first Monday of the month. See the Book Club Reading List for future book titles and meeting dates. We hope to see you there!

Summer Reading Starts June 1!

Summer is just around the corner, which means it’s almost time for our 2017 Summer Reading Program at the Aloha Community Library! Sign-up for all ages begins Thursday, June 1 at the library. CPrinthildren and teens from ages 0 to 18 can visit the library between June 1st and July 31st to sign-up and retrieve their reading logs. Adult readers (ages 18 and up) can register online or in the library through WCCLS Reads after June 1st. Please register at only one WCCLS library!

Visit our Summer Reading page to learn more about the exciting programs and events offered by the library throughout the summer. Programs will take place every week at the library from the end of June — starting the 27th — through August, so stop by and see what’s happening at your local library!

Urban Animals

Animals are all around us, even in the city! Drop in to learn about our wildlife neighbors with hands on activities and interactive displays from the knowledgeable experts of Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District. All ages welcome.

Come browse a wide selection of books for all ages, with affordable prices ranging from $0.50 – $2.00. Arrive early for the best selection of books, because this flash sale only lasts for 90 minutes! After buying some fresh reads, pick up some fresh produce at the opening day of the Aloha Community Farmer’s Market (3:00 pm-7: 00 pm in the parking lot by the new Crunch Fitness).

Underwood, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Washington County’s Executive Director, as he shares his personal story of coping with family mental health issues, explains NAMI’s mission to break the stigma of mental illness, and presents ideas for how to promote mental health in our community.
