Spooktacular Storytime

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 31, 10:30 AM

A special Halloween-themed storytime for toddlers through early grade school kids and their grown-ups. Join us for not-so-spooky songs, stories, and rhymes. We’ll be joined by a special guest storyteller from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. Costumes encouraged!

Teen Read Week

The Aloha Community Library is celebrating Teen Read Week (October 8-14, 2017) by giving away a limited number of free books for teens in 6th through 12th grade to encourage reading for enjoyment. Thousands of libraries, schools and bookstores across the country will host similar giveaways and events centered on this year’s theme, “Unleash Your Story!” Read more →

Register Now — Bobbin Lace Workshop

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21, 1:00-4:00PM

Try your hand at making bobbin lace in a workshop taught by members of the Portland Lace Society! All supplies will be provided, and participants will get to make a beaded lace key chain to take home.

This free adult workshop is limited to 12 people, so registration is required. Call or visit the library to register by Wednesday, October 18th.

 

Sidewalk Book Sale

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7, 10:00AM-2:00PM

Come browse a wide selection of books for all ages, with affordable prices ranging from $0.50 to $2.00. The sale will take place outside the library near the front door, weather permitting.

The Aloha Community Library Association is seeking an experienced, flexible part-time Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our growing organization.

The Full Charge Bookkeeper will be responsible for recording and reporting all financial transactions, including bank reconciliations, budget preparation and cash flow projections, and IRS forms (Form 990, 1099). The position will work closely with the Office Manager, Library Director, and Board Treasurer in monitoring the budget and analyzing financial reports.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and accounting related tasks, including bookkeeping, payroll, and accounts payable. A thorough understanding of QuickBooks and being willing to update financial operations within the library is a must. This position requires excellent organizational skills, flexibility, the ability to work independently, and the enjoyment of working with a diverse group of people.
